About the event

Youth Rangers is a volunteer conservation group for young people aged 12-17 years old. We meet monthly at various Luton & Bedfordshire Nature Reserves and would love to welcome you to our group. Joining us will give you the opportunity to make new friends and acquire new skills whilst helping to protect and improve the local environment.

These sessions are designed for participants to attend independently, so once an adult has signed the young person in, they can be left in our care until collection.  To help us properly prepare for the session, we do ask all young people to pre-book their place for the session.

This month we'll be exploring Totternhoe Nature Reserve  and helping our monitoring team to look for the rare Great Pignut plant and learning some floral surveying at this amazing site.

Please come dressed appropriately for the session, ideally wearing long sleeves, long trousers and sturdy footwear. We also recommend you bring a waterproof jacket in case of rain. You do not need any experience or equipment to attend.  Just bring along a water bottle with you.  Hot and cold drinks and biscuits will be provided free of charge at break time.

You will receive an email with further guidance prior to the session but if you have any questions in the meantime, please do get in touch with Community and Education Officer Gerry at geraldine.turner@wildlifebcn.org.
