About the event

Our first ever Meet the Cows event! Come and see our lovely Belted Galloway ladies, their calves, and farmer Ed.

We will be running some fun activities - be amazed by the dung beetles that live in the cow pats in the meadows, and get creative and paint some beautiful Belted Galloway art.

This event is open to all - it is suitable for adults as well as families with children.

If you just want to meet the cows and chat to farmer Ed you can drop in any time between 10am and 12 noon.

If you want to take part in the organised activities please arrive for 10am.

NOTE: this event is based in the south of the nature reserve, over the M11 bridge. If you want to attend but find this is too far to walk please get in touch as we can organise transport.

What to bring

To avoid bites, stings and scratches, long sleeves and long trousers are suggested for all participants. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy, and sturdy shoes. The sessions will go ahead even if it rains, so you may require waterproofs. It is unlikely but if it is especially windy or lightening is forecast, it may not be advisable to run the session. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as possible and refund your money.
