About the event

This is part of a series of activities for families throughout the year on Trumpington Meadows Nature Reserve.

In this session, join Becca Badger for an adventure on Trumpington Meadows Nature Reserve. We'll enjoy a summer stroll looking for wildlife, and end up at the Community Orchard where we will picnic together, (we'll provide the water-proof blankets, you provide the food!). They'll be a selection of activities to keep everyone happy whilst we enjoy this beautiful area of the reserve. We might do some bug hunting, make a grass bracelet, make up stories, play around with tarps...

This session is perfect for families with primary-aged children, but older and younger siblings will enjoy them.

The benefits of joining the Wildlife Trust BCN include a reduced rate for events. Family membership is from £5 a month.
These are family sessions so children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The sessions are designed for everyone to enjoy.

Mobility

We aim to make our sessions as accessible as possible and are happy to make reasonable adjustments to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy them. Trumpington Meadows Nature Reserve has flat, accessible paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs and we may venture onto more rustic paths in the nearby wood. Please contact us to discuss your accessibility needs.

What to bring

You will be bringing your own food, but please let us know if there are any allergies that will affect what others should bring with them. To avoid bites, stings and scratches, long sleeves and long trousers are suggested for all participants. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy and sturdy shoes. This session is weather-dependent and may be cancelled at short notice. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as possible and refund your money.

Parking information

Parking is available at Byron's Pool which is a 5 minute walk to the Rangers Office. This is a council-owned public car park, it is not usually full, but spaces cannot be guaranteed. Trumpington Park and Ride is a 15 minute walk.
