We’re recruiting for an exciting new role which will see the successful candidate split their time between community engagement and practical conservation work on two of our key wetland sites in Northamptonshire, the Nene Wetlands and Pitsford reservoir.

At the Nene Wetlands the post will work closely with the Communities & Education and Reserves staff to engage with visitors and there will be a particular focus on reducing disturbance by dogs on wintering wildfowl.  This will involve interacting with visitors on the reserve and at our visitor centre, site visits and checks, practical reserves management, organizing and running events and promoting our messaging online and via social media.

At Pitsford the post will work with the Senior Reserves Officer and will assist with the day-to-day running of Pitsford Reservoir nature reserve, through practical work, volunteer tasks, management planning, monitoring and liaising with visitors.

Some of the work will need to be undertaken at peak times for visitors so some weekend work (max. two weekends per month) will be required.

              

Type of Contract: Permanent

Hours:  37.5 per week.       Full Time
