Festival Info

Opening hours:

The festival site will be open from:

  • Friday 19th June 2020 6pm - 11pm
  • Saturday 20th June 2020 12noon - 11pm

  • Wristbands will be issued when you first arrive and you can come and go from the site until 8pm on either day.

Getting Here & Getting Around

The festival will take place at Cambourne Business Park, 10101 Cambourne Road, Cambourne CB23 6DP.

Parking

Wherever possible, car parking will be provided free of charge but without guarantee and liability. We do encourage you where possible to use local transport or to walk to the festival site.

There will be an allocation for disabled parking as close as we can to the festival entrance. There will also be a drop off area for taxis and people being dropped off and collected.

Public Transport

There is a regular bus service to the Cambourne Business Park from Cambridge. The Citi 4 timetable can be found on the Stagecoach website.

Access

The event site has level access, however the whole site is laid to grass and is quite uneven. If the ground is wet wheelchair access may be difficult.

A disabled parking area will be created close to the main entrance. This area will be stewarded and only blue badge holders permitted.

There will be secured viewing areas for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility either side of the stage..created with temp fencing. The stage will be located close to the entrance area.

Two temporary disabled toilets will be provided near the secured viewing area.

Medical Requirements –We welcome attendees who need to bring medicines, food or drink to manage a medical condition or medical equipment. If you have any concerns regarding this please contact us. We will have a first aid team on site, if you require any medical assistance during the festival.

Stewards will be on hand to assist you with any enquiry.

What to bring and what to leave at home

What to bring

  • If last year is anything to go by, it could rain and shine! Check the forecast before you come and bring suncream, a hat and a raincoat and anything else you might need.
  • Please bring folding chairs and rugs to sit on.
  • We will have food stalls on site but you are more than welcome to bring your own picnics.
  • Water will be freely available near the entrance but please bring your own reusable bottles.
  • Payment in the beer and prosecco tents will be card-only. Other stallholders will take a mixture of cards and cash, so please bring both. There are no cash-points on site - the nearest is located at Morrisons in Cambourne.

Can I bring in my own food?

We have got some excellent food stalls on site serving all day and evening but yes you are more than welcome to bring your own picnics.  Please do not bring in any glass or sharp cutlery (bags and picnics will be checked on arrival by our friendly staff). We will have bins around but please take as much rubbish away with you as possible. Please think about not bringing disposable plastics where possible. We all want to try and do our bit to cut down on our plastic consumption.

You can also bring in rugs and chairs to sit on but gazebos, windbreaks and other structures are not permitted.

Water

Water will be freely available near the entrance but please bring your own receptacles.

What to leave at home

  • Glass, breakable crockery and sharp cutlery is prohibited.
  • Gazebos, windbreaks and other structures apart from folding chairs are not permitted.
  • Please do not bring your own alcohol on to the site.
  • Barbecues of any sort will not be allowed.

Prohibited Items

  • Drugs – we will conduct random searches at the gate
  • Fires & Disposable BBQ’s
  • Pen Knives
  • Glass
  • Pyrotechnics
  • Flares
  • We reserve the right to confiscate any item that we deem causes a safety concern for festival- goers.

What’s the deal with alcohol?

You won’t be able to bring your own alcohol on site, but there will be a beer tent selling real ale and cider as well as a prosecco and gin tent. Soft drinks and free water refills will be available - please bring your own water bottle.

Anyone under the age of 18 found with alcohol will have it taken away, in compliance with the law.

We will run a strict Challenge 25 policy so its really important that you remember to bring a valid form of ID in order to receive your 18 + wristband. We reserve the right to deny access to anyone who cannot produce a valid form of ID.

Admission

Do Children get in free?

Under 3s get free entry to the festival but you will need to book them a ticket at the time of your purchase.

How old do I have to be to attend without an adult?

We take the safety of minors seriously. Under 16’s will not be allowed entry into the festival without a responsible adult 21+

If you appear under 16 please bring ID with you if you are without an adult over 21 years old. Failure to do so may result in you being denied entry. Acceptable forms of ID for 16 year olds are passports and Citizenship cards.

Can I bring my dog?

 

Guide and Assistance Dogs only are allowed. No other dogs or pets of any kind are allowed on site.

Can I enter & exit the festival during the day?

 

Yes. Keep your wristband on and you can pop in and out of the festival. Why not explore our wildlife reserve at Cambourne. There will also be guided walks that will take you to explore the fabulous areas for wildlife in Cambourne, these will be organised from the festival venue during the daytime.

Consider the environment:

  • Festival beer and prosecco will be served in compostable cups costing 50p each. We encourage you to reuse these cups throughout the festival to minimise waste.
  • We will have bins around but please take as much rubbish away with you as you can.
  • Please think about not bringing disposable plastics.

Your safety is our priority:

  • Bags and picnics will be checked on arrival by our friendly staff.
  • The ground will be recently-cut grass and uneven in places, so please take care when walking around.
  • Please use the designated smoking area.
  • Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation with our safety procedures.

Weather

The festival is taking place on a grass field and as such adverse conditions could cause the ground conditions to deteriorate. Be prepared to bring wellies and waterproofs. However if it is anything like the summer of 2018, you will need to pack sunblock and bring hats.

If strong winds occur, or other forms of weather we believe could endanger the audience then we reserve the right to close the festival or areas of the festival.

Photography

The Wildlife Trust BCN will be recording at the festival. Ticket-holders agree to being photographed, filmed and sound recorded as an audience without payment, and to their image being used by the Wildlife Trust BCN in all matters relating to the event and any future promotions.
