Terms and Conditions April 2026
These terms and conditions govern The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Wildlife Gardening Award Scheme. The promotion organisers are the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire (WTBCN). By submitting an entry you are accepting the Terms & Conditions of the award scheme and you have entered into an agreement with the organisers. 
The organisers reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice. 
This award scheme is to encourage people within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire to make space for nature at home and to encourage supporters of our work at WTBCN.  
Only one entry per address is permitted. 
The WTBCN reserves the right to withdraw the award scheme at any time. 
1. Eligibility 
To be eligible for an award, your garden must meet the following criteria:
- Wildlife-Friendly Features:
Your garden must include at least 10 wildlife-friendly features, with a minimum of one feature from each of the following categories: Food, Water, Shelter, Management, Connectivity
- Location:
Applications are only open to gardens located within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, or Northamptonshire.
- Evidence:
Clear photographic evidence of listed wildlife-friendly features must be submitted with your application.
- Judging Process:
All entries will be assessed by our judging team. We reserve the right to decline any application that does not fully meet the outlined criteria. Judges may contact applicants to request additional photographic evidence if necessary.
Staff and volunteers of the Wildlife Trust BCN are permitted to enter.
The organiser’s decision on eligibility for the award scheme is final. 
WTBCN reserves all rights to disqualify your entry if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the award scheme. 
If you are under the age of 18 you must have permission to enter from your parent or guardian. Your parent or guardian will be required to submit the application on your behalf. By submitting an entry for the award scheme, your parent or guardian is deemed to have given such consent and to agree to the use of the entry as described in these terms and conditions. 
2. How to Enter 
Entrants will complete the online application form located at: www.wildlifebcn.org/take-action/wildlife-gardening-awards and upload a maximum of three photographs to support the application. Applications will be reviewed by WTBCN and, entrants meeting the criteria will be awarded a digital certificate, and a digital wildlife garden themed booklet packed with hints and tips for inspiration, via email.
Successful entrants are also able to order a display plaque for £TBC for collection from the Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre at Rushden Lakes during opening hours or receive this by post on payment of postage of £2.30 TBC.
3. The Promotion 
The display plaque is subject to availability.
The decision of WTBCN regarding any aspect of the award scheme is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. 
4. Usage Rights 
By entering the award scheme, you grant WTBCN a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images for any purpose to further its charitable aims and objectives. This will include but may not be limited to: 
- On the WTBCN website and social media 
- In Local Wildlife, our members’ magazine 
- In external print and digital press to publicise the award scheme and/or the work of WTBCN 
- In any other WTBCN promotional materials e.g., information leaflets or posters 
In addition to these uses, the organisers may also seek additional permission to use any images on merchandise including, but not limited to, greeting cards, prints and posters, for sale at our retail outlets and on our shop website. Any funds raised from these sales will be used by WTBCN to further its charitable aims. Reasonable notice will be given by WTBCN to any photographer who agrees to this additional usage informing them of the intended use. Copyright will remain with the photographer. The granting of this additional permission will not affect the outcome of the award scheme. 
The organisers will make every reasonable effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium for any purpose. 
5. Data Protection 
We value your privacy and promise to keep your personal details safe and secure, and we will never sell your data.

6. General 
The information given in these Terms & Conditions is correct, but WTBCN reserves the right to change any of it without prior notice. By entering the award scheme, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with English Law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English court.
