About the event
Ants are among the best-known and most fascinating of invertebrates. This introductory day will explain many of the intriguing facts of ant biology, and give insights into their often-astonishing behaviour. Participants will be shown methods for sampling and monitoring ants, explore their value in habitat evaluation, and learn to identify the 20 or so local species.
Chalk grassland and quarries such as Totternhoe have a very rich assemblage of ant species, so are the ideal place to study them
