Is the ancient woodland management technique of cutting certain species of tree down  at the base to encourage branches to grow back, instead of a single large trunk. 

While this used to be done to produce more wood, today it helps both the trees and the wildlife living in the woodland.

Meadows and wetlands

While people associate helping nature with tree planting, in some places this would actually harm the environment. 

What we focus on is rehabilitating and maintaining varied habitats which are appropriate to the location. This promotes the survival of a wider variety plants and wildlife.

Grazing

This is an old land management technique to control the grass in fields. Cows, sheep, horses and other animals would be moved from pasture to pasture to eat the grass. 

Today grazing is used to control how high plants grow in certain meadows in order to benefit or protect certain plants or animals.
