About the event

Welcome to Wild Ed - Primary! Sessions run fortnightly on Thursday afternoons (1pm-2.30pm) for 6 - 10 year olds.It is a great place for youngsters to explore, learn about nature, build confidence and gain new skills.

We'll begin our session by meeting at the Wardown Park play area, before setting off to explore the nearby woodland next to Pope’s Meadow. The walk to the woodland takes approximately 15 minutes each way and includes a moderately steep incline on the way there and a decline on the return.

Led by our experienced staff, sessions will include activities such as bug hunting, natural art, safe tool use all based around the changing seasons, and with clear links to the national curriculum.

Booking is essential and children must be accompanied by an adult. The sessions will take place outside so please ensure that you wear appropriate clothing and footwear, cancellation will only be made during extreme weather conditions.

We have been able to offer these sessions for £4.50 (+eventbrite fee) per child thanks to generous funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund.

Please see our Wild Ed -Secondary sessions that are running monthly on Mondays but will be based from the Bushmead Community Hub and for older children.
