About the event

Welcome to Luton Little Bugs and Wild Ed - Primary (joint sessions)!

The sessions are aimed at pre-school children (age 3-5) and home-schooled children (age 6-10).

This May half-term we have decided to join up forces and create 2 walks to nearby Bradgers Hill instead of the usual Thursday morning Little Bugs session and afternoon Wild Ed Primary session that we run at Wardown park.

Why?

We wanted to go on adventure and explore this beautiful nature reserve (not far from Wardown park), as well as put our explorer skills into use- going for a mini-beast hunt, and taking in the beautiful views of Bradgers Hill.

Come and join us for one of the sessions either in the morning (10.30-12:00) or afternoon (13:00-14:30). All kids aged 3-10 are welcome to join us with their parents whether you are a regular of Luton kids clubs or a new participant! This time only we will open up both sessions for both age groups to allow you to come together, meet other families, welcome new mini-explorers, and put our skills to practice spotting creatures of the big hills.

These sessions are a great way to build confidence of being in the outdoors for both children and their guardians and to connect with local green spaces.

Booking is essential and children must be accompanied by an adult. The session will take place outside so please ensure that your child wears appropriate clothing and footwear.

Location and accessibility:

*Please note: For these sessions only we meet at Bushmead Community Hub (there is parking available at Bushmead shopping centre) to then walk 10 minutes to the nearby Bradgers Hill. The session will run for 1.5 hours and we will ensure we walk back for the session end time.

**Please note: The accessibility at Bradgers Hill is limited at places. We will use hard standing paths to get to Bradgers Hill. We will then follow some footpaths at the bottom of Bradgers Hill (with no steep slopes but some uneven ground). We will then climb up the steps, after which we will follow a gradual path up to reach the top of Bradgers Hill for some stunning views! If you bring a buggy, please consider this, or contact Ieva if you have any questions regarding the session or accessibility at Bradgers Hill!

Price:

We are offering these sessions for £3.50 (+eventbrite fee) per child thanks to generous funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund.

Please see the upcoming dates and times for our Little Bugs and Wild Ed Primary sessions that will continue running at Wardown Park for the next couple of months (June and July, 2025).

Bookings close 24 hours before the event and a minimum attendance of four paying children is required for the session to run. All booking fees will be refunded if we are not able to run. Sessions will be cancelled in the case of extreme weather conditions.

If you have any inquiries regarding the sessions please e-mail ieva.piraga@wildlifebcn.org.

Don't miss out on this exciting adventure with fellow nature enthusiasts. See you at Bradgers Hill for one of the sessions!
