About the event

Come and join us for a fun afternoon of exploration and discovery within the enclosed area of Wardown Park's arboretum, right next to the museum's car park!

This Wild Ed Primary group is for children aged 8-11 and offers opportunities for outdoor exploration, encouraging children to deepen their understanding of nature while building on their existing knowledge and experience.
Sessions take place fortnightly on Thursday afternoons (1.30pm-3pm) and aim to build confidence in outdoor environments for both children and their guardians, while encouraging a connection with nature and local green spaces.

Led by our experienced staff, each session explores a new nature-inspired theme through activities such as wildlife identification, bushcraft skills, safe tool use, wildlife gardening and much more. Guided by the changing seasons, sessions are linked to the National Curriculum and incorporate some elements of Forest School. Sessions also include nature crafts, and plenty of outdoor play in this lovely setting. All activities are designed to suit the interests and abilities of children aged 8-11.

All of our sessions take place outdoors, with no indoor space available. Please come dressed in suitable clothing and footwear for the weather. A drink and snack will be provided, and families are very welcome to bring a packed lunch to enjoy after the session.

Booking is essential and children must be accompanied by an adult. Thanks to generous funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund, we are able to offer subsidised pricing of £4.50 per child (+eventbrite fee).

Please note that bookings close 24 hours before the event, and a minimum of four paying children is required for the session to run. If we are unable to run the session, all booking fees will be refunded. Sessions may also be cancelled in cases of extreme weather, such as heavy rain or high winds.

If you have any inquiries regarding the sessions please e-mail ieva.piraga@wildlifebcn.org.

Don't miss out on this exciting adventure with fellow nature enthusiasts!
