About the event

London-based art school Store is back with another incredible free summer school for 14-18 year olds in the Great Fen! Designer and material scientist Georgemma Hunt, and designer-builders, Flimsy, will lead this exciting workshop.

Join us to explore the material possibilities of the fens by designing and building a display cabinet from past, present and future wetland plants. Students will investigate what grows out of the wet ground around us and bring materials together into a live furniture showcase.

This workshop will combine material science with design and construction to test how we can make new materials and furniture. We will get hands-on to create prototype panels from common bulrush, alongside cutting, carving and joining willow coppice, alder timber and bog oak.

Application forms should be requested from school@storeprojects.org
