About the event

Do you want to share your expertise while gaining new skills and experience? Are you thinking about a career in wildlife or teaching, and would like some work experience to support this? We are looking for people passionate about nature and youth engagement to volunteer with us, helping with a variety of events and educational visits. Build your confidence and gain new skills while supporting us in delivering forest school, wildlife talks, career fairs, school visits and community events. You will receive guidance and training, with access to free conservation workshops and networking opportunities for monitoring and research experience. Want to find out more?

Join us at Ramsey Heights to meet the Communities and Education team (9am to 10:40am) before heading to New Decoy for a guided walk with the volunteer team (11am to 1pm).

Itinerary for the Open Morning:

  • 9am: Arrive at Ramsey Heights Nature Reserve for refreshments
  • 9am to 10:40am: Listen to a talk from one of our staff, where you'll learn about the amazing work taking place at the Great Fen, and how you can use your skills to support us. Short walk around Ramsey Heights Reserve (approx. 15 minutes)
  • 11am to 1pm: Enjoy a guided walk alongside our volunteer team and Great Fen Project Officer, Helen Bailey at New Decoy.

Please Note: Booking is required. If you have any questions, if there are ways that we can make this event more accessible for you, of if you are interested in volunteering but can't make the event, please do get in touch with Communities and Education Officer Laura at laura.allen@wildlifebcn.org
