A Walk in the Park - Foxdell Recreation Ground/ Chaul End
Event details
About the event
A Walk in the Park is a programme of easily accessible walks for all ages running monthly in Luton (every first Wednesday of the month).
A Walk in the Park provides an opportunity to:
- Boost your health and well-being whilst taking a short walk around a natural space and practice some mindfulness in nature.
- Explore green spaces in Luton.
- Meet like-minded people and make new friends.
Learn about the natural world and opportunity to share your own knowledge or experiences.
The aim of the programme is to encourage exploration of scenic parks and green spaces right on your doorstep, at the heart of Luton.
The walks will be led by staff of Wildlife Trust Bedfordshire and volunteers.
All ages welcome!
Join us for our first wellbeing walk of 2026, exploring the Foxdell / Chaul End area on the edge of Luton.
We’ll meet at 2:00pm at Foxdell Recreation Ground car park before setting off on a circular walk to discover this hidden green space.
Our route will take us across the bridge over the M1 towards Chaul End, exploring a variety of habitats along the way. We will then turn back, walking along the edge of the new housing estate and through pockets of woodland, before returning to the car park at approximately 3:30pm.
There is a free car park adjacent to Foxdell Recreation Ground, next to Foxdell Junior School, which can be accessed from Dallow Road.
If using the What3Words website or app, please use the following location for the meeting point:
///friday.topped.fund (Foxdell Recreation Ground Car Park).
Accessibility in the Foxdell / Chaul End area can be limited due to uneven or muddy paths and some steep slopes, so a moderate level of fitness is required for this walk. Please get in touch if you have any mobility concerns or questions about the walk.
Please dress appropriately for the outdoors, including suitable footwear for soft paths. The paths may be muddy and slippery, so we recommend hiking boots with ankle support, and walking poles if you have them.
For any enquiries please contact Ieva on 07871 987381 or ieva.piraga@wildlifebcn.org
*Please note, this is a free well-being walk. Only reserve a place if you intend on joining the walk as these walks are very popular and there are limited spaces available. If you are unable to attend the walk after booking, please do cancel your ticket to give other people a chance to reserve a space.
** If you wish to make a block booking for more than 4 individuals for the upcoming walk, please contact Ieva on ieva.piraga@wildlifebcn.org.uk.
