Windfall apples by Jim Higham
Luton Apple Day
Event details
About the event
Join staff and volunteers from the Luton Orchards Project and Wildlife Trust BCN on Luton's first apple day for many a year! There are so many varieties of apples and orchard areas in Luton to enjoy and this day aims to celebrate that.
Activities will include pressing your own apple juice (feel free to bring along any surplus apples if you are lucky enough to have your own apple tree!), traditional games like apple bobbing, and making your own bird feeders to take home. There will be cakes and drinks to enjoy and a guided walk around the Stockingstone meadow area and bide a while orchard will commence at 1.30pm.
There is no charge, but donations for drinks on the day are welcome. Come along anytime 11am and 3pm but please book a place for the 1.30pm walk if you intend to join that, there is a lovely, well hidden stretch of the River Lea to enjoy between the meadow/orchard area and bide a while, all just a few metres from the A6!
