About the event

This is part of an annual programme of Wild in the Woods family sessions on Wednesdays during school holidays in Cambourne.

In this session, join Becca Badger for an adventure on Cambourne Nature Reserve. We'll do some bug hunting with nets, and make a bee hotel to take home or gift.

This session is for ages 7+. Making a bee hotel can be hard work so will need lots of adult support, (we'll be screwing wood together with hand tools) and is not suitable for younger children.

Additional information

  • Please refer to our event terms and conditions webpage for details on refunds and cancellations, as well as general information about how we run our events
  • The benefits of joining the Wildlife Trust BCN include a reduced rate for events. Family membership is from £5 a month.
  • These are family sessions so children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The sessions are designed for everyone to enjoy.
  • Toilets will be available for part of this session

Mobility

We aim to make our sessions as accessible as possible and are happy to make reasonable adjustments to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy them. Cambourne Nature Reserve has flat, accessible paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs although we will be straying off the path on this session. Please contact us to discuss your accessibility needs.

What to bring

To avoid bites, stings and scratches, long sleeves and long trousers are suggested for all participants. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy and sturdy shoes. The sessions will go ahead even if it rains, so you may require waterproofs. It is unlikely but if it is especially windy or lightening is forecast, it may not  be advisable to run the session. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as possible and refund your money.
