Northants and Oxfordshire Ramble

Back to all Books

Not really a guide book, much more a slow travel diary, this book is intended for the armchair traveller, but may also inspire the active walker.

The rambler heads south on byways and ancient tracks.
In eighty miles he meets mining bees and exploding mosquitoes; cholera & charlock, oxbow & sheepsbit; small coppers, commas, and ringlets; Buckby cans & Stonesfield slates; wielders of adze, auger & spoke dog, Leggett or zax; smiters of drift, fuller & swage, boaster & gouge; a demanding Duchess and a despairing Viscount, in a plethora or perambulation, prosperity, and parochiality.

All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to The Wildlife Trust BCN
