About the event

Join us for one of our popular family bat walks around Summer Leys to learn more about these amazing animals and how to use a bat detector (provided) to listen to the bat's echolocation calls and identify the species present.

Whilst we'll welcome all ages for this event, we'd recommend it for ages 5+, as we'll be heading on a walk around the full loop of the reserve (as typically, the best point for the bats is furthest away!), which is about 2 miles, so please bear this in mind when booking.

Please bring a torch as the reserve and car park will be very dark towards the end.

CAR PARKING: Car parking charges apply for Summer Leys and can be paid for on the day (card payments only). Parking for members of the Wildlife Trust BCN is FREE - Members MUST register their vehicles to access free parking, for more information please visit here.
