About the event

A Walk in the Park is a programme of easily accessible walks for all ages running monthly in Luton (every first Wednesday of the month).

A Walk in the Park provides an opportunity to:

  • Boost your health and well-being whilst taking a short walk around a natural space and practice some mindfulness in nature.
  • Explore green spaces in Luton.
  • Meet like-minded people and make new friends.

Learn about the natural world and opportunity to share your own knowledge or experiences.

The aim of the programme is to encourage exploration of scenic parks and green spaces right on your doorstep, at the heart of Luton.

The walks will be led by staff of Wildlife Trust Bedfordshire and volunteers.

All ages welcome!

For this walk we will explore Dallow Downs and Winsdon Hill, SSSI site in Luton as well as a small community orchard at Dallow Downs. It is a beautiful site for appreciating the diversity of unique chalk grassland species, spotting wildlife along the way, and enjoying stunning views of Luton from the top of Dallow Hill.

Please dress for the outdoors, including suitable footwear for soft paths.

The accessibility at Dallow Downs and Winsdon can be limited due to uneven/ narrow paths, and steep inclines/declines. Please get in touch if you have any mobility concerns or questions about the walk.

We will meet at Wellhouse close by the Winsdon Hill info board where you can park on the side of the road (Wellhouse close LU1 5SN).  We will start the walk at 2pm and return to Wellhouse Close for 3.30 pm.
