About the event

This is part of a series of pre-school sessions offered in Cambourne over the warmer months. They can be enjoyed as a programme, or individually as stand-alone sessions.

Join Wildlife Adventurer Becca Badger for an adventurous stroll around Cambourne Nature Reserve. We'll stop for a story and do some simple outdoor activities for toddlers along the way. These are sociable, fun, relaxed sessions, where we might jump in puddles, climb trees, or make a den.

These small-group, pre-school session, work best for families with children from 2 to 4 years old, although we are flexible. In order to keep group sizes small, each adult may only bring 2 toddlers (younger siblings are welcome)

Mobility

We aim to make our sessions as accessible as possible and are happy to make reasonable adjustments to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy them. Cambourne Nature Reserve has flat, accessible paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Please contact us to discuss your accessibility needs.

What to bring

We try to embrace rain and mud so please ensure adults and children are dressed for the weather, and have sturdy shoes like trainers or boots. Long trousers and long sleeves are advised in all weather, to avoid bites, stings and scratches. The event will go ahead even if it rains, so you may require waterproofs. We will take a break part way round the walk, possibly sitting on the ground, so please consider bringing a drink and snack. We can supply something to sit on, but you may prefer to bring a picnic blanket. We like to encourage exploration, and the children may collect natural materials along the way. You might want to bring a small container (like a sand-castle bucket or plastic bag) to enable this.
