Summer Wildlife Stroll (Hardwick Wood)
About the event
This walk is part of a series of seasonal walks on our West Cambs 100s reserves which include Hardwick, Hayley, Gamlingay, and Waresley and Gransden Woods, and Cambourne Nature Reserve.
We'll walk 2-3 miles at a gentle pace and look at common wildlife along the way. We'll discuss tips on identification, and how you can help these special reserves.
The walks are aimed at adults, but interested older teenagers are welcome.
Know before you go
The paths in Hardwick Wood Nature Reserve can be narrow and muddy. The site is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs (please consider the events available on Cambourne Nature Reserve which can be more flexible)
What to bring
Please come prepared for mud and weather! Long sleeves and long trousers are advised, to avoid bites and stings, and sturdy shoes you don't mind getting muddy. Sessions are not normally cancelled due to rain so you may need waterproofs. It is unlikely, but if the wind is above 40 mph, it is unsafe to enter woodlands. If this happens, the walk will be cancelled and your money reimbursed.
