About the event

Most suited to families with children aged 5 and above.

Please note very muddy and slippery in places - wellies essential!

Upon purchasing a family ticket you will receive all the necessary documents, within your confirmation email, to join us on this trail! Just check the bottom of the confirmation email from Eventbrite under 'Additional Information' and click the link to access. Download to your phone and/or print the attached document and map. Then use either the QR codes or links to watch short video clips of our story! 

Get your wellies on (needed) and wrap up warm, pack a flask, snacks and the family! Follow the map, with listening points marked with spots, to hear each short video clip all about Wiffle the Wigeons journey from Lapland to Paxton Pits!

What to bring

Print out the information sheet including the map as children love to follow maps! Alternatively download to your phone. Wear wellies or boots suitable for mud (essential)! Wrap up warm in hats, gloves and thick socks. Bring a hot flask, snacks and hand sanitiser. Binoculars are great too but only if you have them.

Parking information

Park in the main car park opposite the Visitors Centre. Please be aware haulage lorries are using the road outside the Environmental Education Centre all day. Please keep your children close by you as you walk from the car park to the start of the trail.

Bicycle parking

Please bring a lock and you can park your bike in the main car park.
