About the event

Virtually join Wildlife Adventurer Rebecca Neal for a series of self-guided wild trails around Cambourne Nature Reserve, released weekly during August 2020. Follow a map and explore with your family whenever it suits you.

You'll be sent a map and challenges to complete, on short walks around the reserve, starting from the car park off School Lane between Fenbridge and Quidditch Lane. You can access extra information through videos along the way.

These walks are aimed at families with primary aged children but older and younger children will enjoy them.

There are limited spaces available for guided versions of these trails, first come first served.

Additional booking information

We appreciate families paying for our activities as this supports our charity The Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs and Northants, and allows us to maintain your local nature reserve for wildlife and people.
A different trail will be released weekly on Wednesdays in August, and will then be available until the end of August

Know before you go

On a lead
The nature reserve rules ask you to keep dogs on leads around the reserve during bird-breeding season (spring and summer) to avoid disturbing ground-nesting birds

The paths around Cambourne are mostly flat and accessible and most of the challenges are on, or right next to, the paths. Some challenges involve walking up hills. Please contact us for more information.

What to bring

I would suggest long sleeves and long trousers to protect against bites, stings, scratches, and sunburn. Sturdy shoes would be sensible, and be prepared for wet weather.

Parking information

The starting point is a public car park and spaces cannot be guaranteed. Please consider parking at Morrisons nearby
