Join the Wildlife Trust on a tour of some of Cambridgeshire's stunning nature reserves and SSSIs to see 9 different orchid species.

About the event

This is your chance to discover some of the best places to see orchids in Cambridgeshire. Be guided by those in the know and visit, fen, grassland and woodland habitats to find out what makes these sites so special and take time to appreciate the species that call them home. We hope to see 9 different species of orchid alongside a wealth of other wildflowers.

After meeting at our Trumpington Meadows office, we will visit Devil's Dyke Site of Special Scientific Interest, Fulbourn Fen Site of Special Scientific Interest and WT Nature Reserve and Haslingfield Pit County Wildlife Site. A buffet lunch will be provided at a local pub (please ensure you fill in any dietary requirements when you book). Transport will be provided.

The tour will involve walking on uneven ground across grasslands. Please contact event leader if you require further information.

What to bring

You may wish to bring a camera and plant identification book if you have them. Please be aware of the weather forecast and dress appropriately with sun hat and lotion if it's going to be hot. You will need to wear sturdy boots or trainers as we will be walking on uneven ground and away from footpaths. Lunch will be provided.
