About the event

Dr Bladon’s presentation will take us on a journey to discover how climate change and human-induced habitat loss will affect the future of UK butterflies. On five chalk grassland reserves around Dunstable, the Wildlife Trusts and the University of Cambridge have conducted butterfly surveys in 2009 and 2018, recording species' abundance, habitat preferences, and body temperatures. Dr Bladon will present the results of these surveys, investigate how species may differ in their responses to a warming climate, and discuss what we can do to help them cope.
