About the event

For this Youth Ranger activity we will return to Warden Hill in Luton to clear more scrub (small trees) to create larger areas of chalk grassland which this site is famous for. It is part of a concerted effort by the Trust and Council to create more valuable habitat for wildflowers, butterflies and birds.

Work will involve cutting down trees with sharp tools and then burning the resulting material but all under supervision of Trust staff, trainees or volunteers. In February the youth rangers really enjoyed their session here so we thought it a good place for our Christmas task and annual marshmallow toasting!

Please ensure everyone is dressed for the weather and outdoor work and they have some water with them and sturdy footwear.
