We have new and exciting opportunities to join our West Cambridgeshire Reserves Teams covering multiple reserves in North and West Cambridgeshire. The position covers 3 days per week for 9 to 12 months.

The Reserves Team in the Trust look after our suite of nature reserves, carrying out all the necessary management to keep our sites in top condition for wildlife and to help local people enjoy nature.

You will gain experience in all aspects of habitat management for conservation, including practical, survey and office-based skills. As well as gaining knowledge and experience from working with the skilled reserves team, you will also get opportunities to work with and lead volunteer groups, participate with in-house training and receive external training and assessment in chainsaw use, brushcutter use and First Aid.  Applicants should be reliable and able to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week for 9-12 months, be capable of using power tools and machinery and enjoy physical work outdoors in all weathers. Good team working skills and self-motivation are essential. Some previous experience of practical conservation work would be an advantage but is not essential. Some travel expenses and a training budget are available. Please note that we do not accept CVs.

The role is designed to help those wishing to gain a career in this field, and the success rate of Volunteer Officers going on to get paid employment in the sector is high.
