About the event

Join us for inspiration and insight about what the Trust is doing for local wildlife with your support, plus a great chance to mingle with other Trust members, volunteers, staff and trustees.

We are pleased to invite you to this year’s Members’ Day and AGM shining a spotlight on the Great Fen, one of Europe’s most ambitious habitat restoration projects. Over 50 years, this landscape between Peterborough and Huntingdon is being transformed for wildlife, people, and climate, with vital work to restore peatlands and capture carbon.

Members’ Day is a wonderful opportunity to hear more about the Trust’s work, meet fellow members, volunteers, staff and trustees, and enjoy a fantastic day immersed in nature.

If you’ve never attended one of our Members’ Days before, why not make this the year you join us? And if you’re a returning attendee, you’ll already know what a welcoming and enjoyable event it is, we’d love to see you again.

This year’s event will take place at:

Abbey College
Abbey Road, Hollow Lane, Ramsey, PE26 1DG

The day begins at 9.30am with tea and coffee, followed by talks from a range of inspiring speakers sharing updates and stories from across the Trust. Our formal AGM will take place at 12 noon on Saturday 3rd October 2026, followed by a buffet lunch bag.

Afternoon Activities

In the afternoon, members are invited to take part in a variety of activities across two locations: Ramsey Heights and New Decoy Farm.

Please note that each activity will last approximately 80 minutes apart from the VR experience which will be running as 10 minute slots throughout the day. Those who select the VR experience for their afternoon activity will be free to drop in to Brian's microscope session, or mingle with other members and staff.

Activities include:

  • Guided walks at Woodwalton Fen
  • Moth trapping at Ramsey Heights
  • A guided tour of New Decoy Farm, including a visit to the “Tiny House”
  • For those who would prefer a more relaxed afternoon at the venue, we are delighted to welcome back naturalist and Wildlife Trust BCN CEO Brian Eversham, who will host a sustainability-themed session with the ever-popular “Wildlife Under the Microscope” experience, offering a fascinating close-up look at the natural world.
  • New for 2026 – Immersive Great Fen VR Experience - Step into the Great Fen like never before as we welcome Jamie Brookes from Landscan UK with an extraordinary immersive virtual reality experience. Using cutting-edge VR headsets, you’ll be transported into the heart of the landscape to discover the Great Fen from a truly unique perspective. This exciting experience will be available throughout the day, giving members the opportunity to see the Great Fen in a whole new light.
