The Wildlife Trust Nature Girls

About the group:

The Wildlife Trust’s Nature Girls is a group designed for all women (including trans, intersex and non-binary people) who love nature and the outdoors to meet like minded people, whilst enjoying time in nature.

The group was formed in 2024, initially focused in Northamptonshire, and has been a huge success. Exploring nature reserves alone can be incredibly daunting as a woman, and often the anxiety surrounding being unsafe can create barriers for women enjoying the outdoors the way they’d like to. We wanted to break down those barriers and have created a safe space for women to enjoy nature and the outdoors, where they can also meet like minded people and form new friendships - we know how difficult this can be too!

We host regular events which involve a range of activities for you to take part in – these could be a walk around a nature reserve, crafts or wildlife activities such as yoga, pond dipping, bat detecting and more! We have had a great couple of years watching a wonderful community grow in Northamptonshire, and we are now expanding to include events in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

As well as our events, we also have an online community on Facebook & Whatsapp, where you can connect with fellow Nature Girls, share all things wildlife, and arrange your own meet ups too.
