Willow Weaving Workshop: Make Your Own Bird Feeder
Event details
About the event
Join us for a relaxing and creative willow weaving workshop at High Town Methodist Church, running alongside the High Town Christmas Market (12–5pm). It’s the perfect chance to take a break from the bustle, enjoy a hot drink, and craft your very own handmade willow fat ball bird feeder — a thoughtful Christmas gift with a story to tell!
As temperatures drop and natural food sources become scarce, garden birds rely more on supplementary feeding to survive the winter. Fat-based foods are especially valuable at this time of year, providing a high-energy boost to help birds maintain body heat and energy reserves. In this workshop, you’ll learn beginner willow weaving techniques while creating a beautiful and practical fat ball feeder — combining traditional craft with care for wildlife.
We’ll provide all materials, tools, and refreshments, including hot drinks to enjoy as you weave. Please note: willow weaving can be tough on the hands, so some hand strength is required.
The workshop will take place indoors in the front hall of High Town Methodist Church. Our team will greet you on arrival and guide you to the main hall for a 1pm start. The session lasts around 2 hours, giving you plenty of time to finish your feeder, chat with others, and soak up the festive atmosphere.
This workshop is open to ages 16+ and booking is required via the Eventbrite link.
