About the event

Join Henry Stanier, the Great Fen's Monitoring and Research Officer, on a guided walk of Woodwalton Fen National Nature Reserve. He will help you identify which birds are singing as the sun rises over this historic wildlife site on International Dawn Chorus Day. Bring your binoculars. 

Taking place on the first Sunday of May, International Dawn Chorus Day is the worldwide celebration of nature's greatest symphony. All across the world people rise early to revel in the sweet sound of birdsong, from rattling wrens in Rotherham to crooning cowbirds in the Caribbean.

To protect from ticks and other biting insects please wear closed-toe shoes. socks tucked into long trousers and long sleeves. Insect repellent may be useful. Please note, toilets will not be accessible for this event.

Attendees should park at the far end of Chapel Road on the bank of the Great Raveley Drain and meet at the Woodwalton Fen Nature Reserve entrance bridge
