Nextdoor Nature

Nextdoor Nature is bringing communities in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire together to help nature flourish where they live and work!

What is Nextdoor Nature?

Nextdoor Nature is communities working together for people and for nature. Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, this national project will provide people with the advice and support they need to help nature on their doorstep, and leave a lasting natural legacy in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

So, whether there’s a dull, barren patch of land that could be colourful and buzzing again, or a space that could be a wild but safe area to visit or play in – the Nextdoor Nature projects will help everyone to take action for nature.

There’s already so much to celebrate – here are just a few updates from incredible communities doing wonderful things for nature and for people across the UK.

We are currently gearing up to get the project off the ground but will be supporting communities in three different ways:

  • Providing information on how individuals and groups can create more nature near them
  • Helping existing local groups, organisations and businesses help nature at risk
  • Supporting the development of new nature-focused community groups

If you are interested in getting involved, check this page and our social media channels regularly for updates and information on how to benefit from the project.

Can't wait to get started?

Nature’s recovery needs to start now! We’ve got plenty of ideas that everyone can get on with, right away. And for a beautiful, wildlife-friendly and happy street, why not share some ideas with your neighbours too?Â
