About the event

Youth Rangers is a group for secondary-aged young people (11-17 years) keen to make a positive difference to their local environment. We meet throughout the year at various Cambridgeshire nature reserves and would love to welcome you to our group.

Please note:
Bookings are not confirmed until we have received your completed paperwork and consent form (for each child).

Join us for another fantastic session of learning real, practical conservation skills from industry professionals and making a positive impact for wildlife. You do not need any experience to attend. This month we'll be at Upwood Meadows NNR joining the Reserve Warden and Wildlife Trust volunteers for the important annual orchid count. Learn how to identify the target species, how to record results and discover the other wildlife that benefits from the floristic diversity of the site.

Please bring water and dress appropriately for the weather - Layers and waterproofs as needed, hats and sun lotion if hot. Long sleeves, trousers and hiking boots/wellies are recommended. Refreshments provided (hot drink and biscuits).

Additional information

  • There are no toilet facilities available for this session.
  • These sessions are designed for participants to attend independently. We try to be as inclusive as possible, but this session may not suit every young person, and unfortunately we cannot provide 1:1 support.
  • Parents/guardians will be asked to fill out a consent form to include relevant concerns/issues to help us ensure participants get the most out of the session.
  • Please refer to our event terms and conditions webpage for details on refunds and cancellations, as well as general information about how we run our events.
  • Enjoy discounts on many Wildlife Trust BCN and Great Fen events by becoming a member today!
"Joining your local Trust is one of the most important things you can do to make sure the species and habitats we love will be there for future generations to enjoy." - David Attenborough, President Emeritus of the Wildlife Trusts.
