About the event

Whether you are a regular visitor, a new visitor, a family who's enjoyed pond dipping in the past, a former volunteer, or someone who came to the centre as a child and wants to relive those memories - this day is for you.

Expect a mix of hands-on nature activities, nostalgic moments and family fun for all ages. It's a chance to reconnect with the centre. Booking essential.

There will be activities for younger visitors, but as we are inviting back former visitors, for these there will be special memento key ring making especially for these now older former visitors.*

*Please bring £2:50 for materials for this activity.

Activities will include pond dipping and bucket pond making. Please bring some change as there will be a number of items to purchase, including cake!

Whilst there is no charge for this event, donations towards the work of the centre are much appreciated. This event has been made possible thanks to the ongoing support of our valued Wildlife Trust BCN members.

All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout their time here. Sorry no dogs are allowed in the Environmental Education Area, where the family activities will be running (except assistance dogs).

Lots to do outdoors too, so wear long trousers and sensible shoes with closed toes and do bring raincoats.

Please also be aware the now mature hazel hedges have produced lots of hazelnuts this year and the squirrels have raided these and distributed the broken nuts and shells around!

Itinerary for the day

10am until 11.45am family activities in the education centre grounds. Ensure you book your free tickets!

Activities will stop between 12 noon until 1pm for the Reunion Picnic - for current and former volunteers, current and former family visitors and former work experience students. We would love to see former visitors to the centre from many years ago! Here will be the opportunity to reminisce. So also book to join in an activity session before or after the picnic to pond dip and make a special memento of your visit! Just bring a picnic & stool or blanket and £2.50. Book your free tickets.

1:15 pm until 3:00pm family activities in the education centre grounds. Ensure you book your free tickets!

Those booking activities plus picnic will need to make two separate bookings!

Please do not attend if you or your family feel unwell.
