Luton & Beds Youth Rangers at Coopers Hill
, Ampthill, Bedfordshire, MK45 2QT
Event details
About the event
During this Youth Ranger session, for anyone living in Luton or Bedfordshire who is aged 12-18yrs old, we will be helping to remove bracken so that important heathland species, like heather, can thrive on this site. We will also follow the walk around the sculpture trail at Cooper's Hill to learn more about what species live on this site!
This activity is part of the Youth Week 2025 (8-17Aug) run by Wildlife Trust BCN. For more activities run during the Youth Week across all three counties, please click here.
These monthly sessions provide opportunities for meeting other young people interested in the natural environment, learning new skills, as well as exploring a variety of green spaces across Bedfordshire, and helping the Trust to manage this nature reserve. This is a great chance to learn about the conservation/ management efforts to allow the heathland to thrive for the benefit of wildlife and people.
Refreshments and safety gloves will be provided to all those attending the session. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots. We recommend wearing long trousers and long sleeved shirt/jacket.
No experience is required just some enthusiasm and willingness to join in. Staff are on hand throughout the session and do contact us before this event if you have any queries. If you have not attended a Youth Ranger session before there is a parental permission form to complete first, please email Matt for this at:
