Anglian Water have announced that they are developing their capability and resources to extend conservation habitats and strengthen visitor services and engagement, including capacity to manage the nature reserve and fulfil SSSI obligations. Anglian Water have given the Wildlife Trust notice that they will take the management of Grafham Water in house from April this year stating the decision is in no way a reflection on the Trust’s dedication, conservation achievements, or management of the site.
This means the Wildlife Trust will not be managing the site and will not have their own staff there in future. BCNWT will continue to work with Anglian Water at Pitsford Water and across various other partnerships and initiative across the wider Anglian Water business and region.
The Wildlife Trust has been extremely proud to manage Grafham Water Nature Reserve for more than 40 years. The Wildlife Trust has been very fortunate to have the support of so many dedicated and caring volunteers who have worked tirelessly with our staff to manage the habitat for a huge number of species and we want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone.
