Cambourne 10k Business Challenge 2017

Team ARM in the 2016 ChallengeTeam ARM in the 2016 Challenge

Get fit for wildlife!

Are you a newcomer to running, or a seasoned racer? We’re looking for teams of four to compete for our 10k Business Challenge trophy, and raise funds for local wildlife.

Sunday 2 April 2017 will see the ninth Cambourne 10k race take place in and around our beautiful nature reserve and country park. This popular event is ideal for first time runners as well as more experienced competitors, and is a great way to do something positive for wildlife in your community. All we ask is that your team of 4 (or 3, as we'd use the average time for the 4th runner) raises a minimum of £250. The course passes through stunning scenery around lakes and meadows, and is a fantastic opportunity for people to discover, enjoy and share the work which the Trust carries out.

Each year we challenge local businesses to enter teams into the race - the money raised goes towards supporting our many projects and nature reserves across the three counties of Beds, Cambs and Northants. Last year the business challenge trophy was won by Hewitsons Solicitors with an average team time of 46 minutes 58 seconds, and a team from ARM Holdings came in at second place.

Every penny raised through the challenge will help to halt the decline of some of our favourite local species, such as the dormouse, barn owl, otter and water vole. It also enables us to restore wildlife such as the colourful Fen Violet in the Great Fen Living Landscape – so your support really will make an impact.

If you don’t have enough runners amongst your colleagues for a team of four, you could enter three and the average time would be used instead of the fourth runner. Of course, we also welcome solo runners to raise funds for us under their own steam, but you wouldn’t be eligible for the team trophy.

Places in the 10k are strictly limited so please don’t leave it too late to enter at www.cambridgefestivalofrunning.com. Then download and return our challenge registration form which can be downloaded here. Please email it to helen.daniel@wildlifebcn.org or contact us on 01954 713500 for more information and help.
