Get fit for wildlife!

Are you a newcomer to running or a seasoned racer? If you're in a running club, or just have friends, family and colleagues who enjoy running, we’re looking for teams of runners to compete for our Cambourne 10k Challenge trophy, and raise money for local wildlife.

Sunday 2 April 2017 sees the ninth Cambourne 10k Race take place in and around our beautiful nature reserve and country park. This popular event is ideal for first time runners as well as more experienced competitors, and a great way to do something positive for wildlife in the community. The course passes around lakes and meadows and is a great opportunity for people to discover, enjoy and share the Trust's work.

Each team of 3-4 runners has to collectively raise a minimum of £250 - all proceeds will help maintain the habitat of favourite local species, such as the dormouse, barn owl, otter and water vole. It also enables us to restore wildlife such as the colourful Fen violet in the Great Fen Living Landscape – your support really makes an impact.

Last year the trophy was won by Hewitsons Solicitors with an average team time of 46 minutes 58 seconds, and a team from ARM Holdings came in at second place.

If you don’t have enough runners for a team of four, you could enter three and the average time would be used instead of the fourth runner. We also welcome solo runners to take part in the race and to raise money for the Trust (although single runners are not eligible for the team-based challenge trophy).
