A gift in memory is a wonderful way to remember a loved one
Every gift will be used to protect local wildlife and wild places
Traditionally we pay our respects with floral tributes and while cut flowers don't last very long, wildflowers can last for generations.
A donation in memory of a loved one can help to protect bluebells in local woodlands; wildflowers and butterflies in our meadows; and lapwings and otters in wetlands across our area. By giving a gift in memory you are directly supporting the conservation of local nature reserves and wildlife, keeping places special for future generations.
We offer a number of ways to make a dedication in memory of a loved one:
In Memoriam seating and benches: £1,000
Dedication benches are a very popular way of remembering a loved one and the Trust has a number of sites where visitors are encouraged to sit and reflect. Where we have plans to replace or install new seating on our nature reserves we are happy to offer these as opportunities to families and friends of the Wildlife Trust to remember a loved one.
Book of Remembrance: £250
For those who wish to record a personal message in memory of a loved one, we can offer a special dedication in our beautiful Book of Remembrance which is currently displayed at the office in Cambourne. Families are invited to view the dedication in person at a location of their choosing within the three Counties.
A ‘memory plaque’: £150
There are a number of dedicated spaces across our nature reserves, where ‘in memoriam’ or dedication donations can be publicly recognised; this may be on a hide, on a display board or on a ‘memory post’. The single brass plaque can be engraved with up to 20 words, and will be positioned where it is easily accessible for viewing.
Dedicating a Tree: £25
Dedicating a tree is a natural way to mark a memorable occasion in the life of people who are special to you, whatever the occasion. For £25, you receive a personalised certificate and gift card. Please note that in order to keep our woods natural, your dedication is not marked in any way; it is a donation to a number of trees in a particular area, rather than one identifiable tree. Your gift will keep growing, and you will be helping to achieve our vision of an enriched natural environment, providing homes for local wildlife and for people to enjoy.
If you would like to discuss a different way to remember a loved one, please contact us. We would like to help with every type of individual request and will wherever possible.

A Gift in Memory will help to achieve our vision of an enriched natural environment; providing homes for local wildlife and places where people can reflect, and enjoy our special wild places.
At the end of the short video below, is a tribute to John Finlayson, who has a plaque dedicated to his memory in the Peter Scott hide at our Titchmarsh nature reserve to which he was devoted.
